Technical Requirements

All our courses require broadband Internet access (Min of 1mb recommended) and participants need to be familiar with using the internet, downloading and installing software.

Course Objectives

Teachers will learn how to locate and integrate Web 2.0 resources across the curriculum and understand how these tools can impact teacher and student learning.

Expected Outcomes

Teachers will be enabled to use the latest Web 2.0 technologies to enrich the use of the internet in their teaching and assist their students to become creators and sharers of content on the Internet

Assessment Criteria

The course facilitator will review the forum postings, practical work and course reflective learning log completed by the participant to ensure that:

  • Teachers have made a reflective posting at the end of each lesson on how Web 2.0 tools can be used in their classrooms.
  • Teachers have designed and created their own education blog and will reflect on its potential use and impact in their classroom teaching.
  • They will also contributed appropriate teaching and learning web based resources to the course social bookmarking page.

Course Duration

Delivered online, this course can be taken anytime, anywhere between Thursday July 1st and Friday 27th August, 2010. Participants will be encouraged to engage meaningfully with course content for approximately 20 hours. Whilst engagement with the course content will be primarily judged on the quality of their contributions, a log of their time spent working on the course will be kept.
